Unico PowerSpin BX Centrifuge With Three Rotor Options
Documentation:
The BX is a versatile, state of the art variable-speed centrifuge series with three rotor options.
Options are:
- Blood/Urine Tube, 8 place rotor for 10ml tubes, Up To 5,000 RPM, Max RCF 2571g
- 24 place - Microhematocrit/Capillary Tube Rotor Up To 11,000 RPM, Max RCF 11,634g
-
24 place Microcentrifuge Tubes, 0.5-3 ml Rotor Up To 11,000 RPM, Max RCF 11,093g
A BX can be used as either a dedicated centrifuge with any one of the rotors, or as a versatile addition to your lab with up to three interchangeable rotors, with speeds ranging from 1,000 - 11,000 RPM.
BX Centrifuges have advanced safety features such as a Zero RPM lid latch control system (which makes sure the lid can not be opened if the rotor is spinning), a stainless steel rotor chamber, Auto-unbalance detection and shut-down (will shut-down the motor if an off-balance condition is detected). This centrifuge is equipped with three interchangeable rotors and features ARD (Automatic Rotor Detection). The unit is able to automatically recognize which of the three rotors is being loaded. As each of the three rotors has a different maximum speed, this is a very important safety feature.
Micro-hematocrit rotors are equipped with a Tube Reader integrated into the lid of the rotor. By using this method, you can read the crit values quickly and easily after your run, without having to remove the tubes and place them in a reader, or on a reader card, etc. It is necessary to note that the standard Blood & Urine tube rotor will only accept 7.5-12 ml tubes and not 15ml tubes. Using the adapters shown below, you can spin 0.5 - 3 ml tubes (C800-04), or 3.5 - 6.5 ml tubes (C800-03).
An over-sized LCD display that is built into the machine provides real-time data to the user. With a push of a button, you can speed up or slow down the rotor with a range of 1,000 - 11,000 RPM (maximum 5000 RPM when using the Blood Tube Rotor). This brushless DC motor is powerful and super quiet. It does not require any maintenance. This is due to the fact that the cover of the Micro-hematocrit rotor incorporates a reader, which is capable of doing instant readings and removing the need for extra specimen handling.
